A Southern Maryland Winter Engagement Session

Recently, Denniss and I enjoyed photographing Liz and Jesus's engagement session on a chilly winter afternoon in January. When Liz's father, who knew me from my work as her brother's youth minister, approached me with a request to photograph Liz and Jesus's wedding, I felt touched that he chose us to capture this special moment in his daughter's life.

Liz and I met and hit it off, making plans for her engagement session with Jesus. Despite the less-than-ideal weather conditions on the day of their engagement session, Liz and Jesus remained undeterred. They embraced the elements gracefully and enthusiastically.

Since we are in the middle of winter, Denniss and I chose a park that showcased the rugged beauty of Southern Maryland as our backdrop. Our first stop was a secluded nook adorned with lush ivy that, as an evergreen, is even more beautiful in the winter. The scene evoked a sense of enchantment, reminiscent of the time Mary discovered the hidden garden in the book "The Secret Garden."

We then moved on to the water's edge, where the landscape transformed again. Liz and Jesus enjoyed a picnic of pizza and wine against the backdrop of rolling waves and windswept shores.

Liz and Jesus' excitement was undeterred by the weather throughout the session. We laughed, explored, and captured moments that will serve as reminders of their love story forever.

In Southern Maryland, where the landscape is as diverse as the love stories it hosts, Liz and Jesus's engagement session turned out beautifully. The soft, diffused light complemented the couple's vibrant energy, creating a dreamy atmosphere. Moments like these, where simplicity meets beauty, truly resonate with me. At Olea & Co.
